Simple Minds and Igudesman & Joo in Antwerp, Arnhem and Rotterdam 2008-02-12 09:30:00

For the autumn shows in Belgium and the Netherlands, Night of the Proms is pleased to announce Simple Minds and Igudesman & Joo as guest stars during the 24th (B) and 19th (NL) edition.

Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill, the founding members of Simple Minds, have participated twice at the shows, in 1997 and 2002, and have always been a audience favorite. When they indicated that they would enjoy celebrating the 30th birthday of their career with a third appearance during the Night of the Proms autumn shows, this was an easy and quick decision for us to take. The Scottish band Simple Minds had its major breakthrough with the singles ‘Promised You A Miracle’ and ‘Glittering Prize’ in 1982.

Aleksey Igudesman and Richard Hyung-ki Joo are following the footsteps of luminaries such as Victor Borge, Dudley Moore, and even Glenn Gould. They have created a ground-breaking show that defies categorization by marrying humour with music.
